• Managing all Stroke Member referrals, including home visits and ongoing family support
• Liaising with Speech and Language Therapists and Surrey based hospitals
• Ongoing Stroke Member and Volunteer support
• Recruiting all Volunteers
• Staff Management
• Working with our Groups Coordinator, ensuring our 5 groups are operating in a relaxed and fun environment
• Supporting our Group Leaders
• Overseeing all Volunteer and Staff training, including inductions and mandatory training needs
• Policies and Procedures

I come from a corporate background working at various companies in the Pharmaceutical Industry, to Technical Facilities Management. I joined TALK in 2018 and from that day on, I have been truly inspired by our Stroke Members’ determination, and our Volunteers’ dedication.

I am a family orientated person with a passion for music.  I studied Performing Arts, I sing and play the piano, and I also like to upcycle furniture.  I am obsessed with all interior design TV programmes, and I have over a hundred pairs of shoes…but who’s counting!

We are currently recruiting for a new fundraiser.  Any enquiries about fundraising should be directed to the fundraising email address above.

• Writes applications to grant making trusts and organisations to fund our services

• Manages the Community Fundraising initiatives and publicity events

• In Memoriam donations and legacies to TALK

• Publicity materials such as adverts, leaflets, posters annual review and brochures

• Works closely with the Operations Manager to support the day to day operation of the groups for all the volunteers and members.
  
  
• Manages Health and Safety at the groups including Risk Assessments, DBS checks and Fire Drills.
  
  
• Undertakes administration for the groups including termly programme planning, liaising with external speakers, session payments and invoicing.
  
  
• Supports the delivery of aphasia friendly sessions throughout the term.
  

Before taking on this role, I was an active volunteer for 10 years whilst raising my family – the last 6 years of which I have been volunteering at the TALK group in Walton. 

You never know what’s going to happen at the group, who you’ll spend time with, and what you’ll find out about each other!  There is always fun to be had for both the members and the volunteers.  I am now excited to be part of the team that makes that happen!
