Interim Group Leader: Alison Wainwright (Groups Coordinator)

People visiting our group often remark how friendly and welcoming it is.  We try to achieve this in order to make new stroke members feel at ease and to increase confidence.

We have round tables seating 6 – usually 3 stroke recoverers and 3 volunteers.  This makes it is easy for communication.

The content of the workshops is varied but we try to include things that are of interest to everyone.  We use the experience of the stroke members whenever possible, sometimes this is to do with their work or their interests and hobbies.  Games, art, music, quizzes and many other methods are used to increase communication skills.  Friendly trained volunteers are always present and the relaxed atmosphere promotes lots of laughter.
